Would you like a free makeover?

Did you know that many of the big brand shops for makeup give you a free makeover? This so you can decide before purchasing the product if you like it or not and the suitability to your skin. In the larger stores there are professional make up artists or advisors who are performing makeovers and giving out free advice.

If you don’t want to spend money on makeup which you’ll use only once, there are often free makeup appointments where you phone in advance. This means you can have your make-up done for free before you go on a date and as most of these offers are in the west end, so make a night of it.

For example, Selfridges in the west end have endless counters of make up and friendly beauticians waiting to give you a free makeover. If you want to splash your cash and opt for make up from more luxuries brands such as Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent and Guerlain, they also have beauticians at the counter. They advise on many things such as a perfect match for foundation or which colour blusher for cheeks will be most suited to your skin.

As well as makeup, this also applies to skin care. There’s no point in spending over £25 for a moisturiser only to find it isn’t not suitable for your skin. We’ve all done it, not only is it a waste of money, it could’ve been prevented by talking to an advisor. Never buy products from someone who can’t answer any questions you may have about what you are purchasing.

Free makeover samples

Another good tip to remember is most big brands offer free samples anything from a sachet of foundation, moisturiser to a small bottle of perfume, so this is another way of testing products before buying them.

Watch out for the small text in adverts on TV or in magazines and newspapers telling you of free samples and offers. Alternatively when signing up to the top brands, you often get a newsletter telling you of the latest products, offers and competitions. If you’re a loyal customer, you can also get some good discounts or free delivery.

When you have found a product well matched to your skin, whether it’s moisturiser or make up, shop around on the internet as you will find many reductions in price but be careful because when delivery charges are added you could end up paying more that going into a shop.
